Wow! What an event this will be! Thanks to the efforts of passionate runner and NPF member John McCleary,
and our enthusiastic race committee, Sunday May 6th promises to be a banner day. With early morning start times from 7-8 a.m., 500 runners will head off for the 10K, Half Marathon, and the Mighty Cow Challenge, making their way back to the finish line in our pastures. The well thought out courses have been sanctioned, certified and insured by the USATF. Our top priority is safety and we are grateful to the police departments and EMTs from Redding and Danbury for their assistance. John has run 34 marathons and hundreds of shorter races and is elated to be bringing all of his favorite ideas together in this hometown event. In John’s words to the runners, “If you don’t leave this race having a new favorite race, we didn’t do our job.” We are in awe of his commitment and thoughtfulness.
