Sugar House

As you walk down our Farm Road, you will pass our Sugar House with its large columns of stacked wood, which houses a large evaporator along with other equipment needed for production.

From early-February through early-March, you will see steam rising from its cupola, as our farmers boil down the many gallons of sap they have collected to make delicious maple syrup. It takes approximately 40-45 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup, which explains all the steam. Each year, they put 250 taps in the Sugar Maple trees on our property and on the properties of our generous neighbors who live along Umpawaug Road.

Please watch our Winter Calendar for our sugaring programs!
