Enjoy a bucolic geology-focused walk through our beautiful property with the landscape reflecting the broader landscape of Fairfield County and the Western Connecticut Highlands developed over 400 million years of geological processes driven by plate tectonics, glaciation, and rivers.
Highlights include glacier boulders, a boulder of 80% garnet rock, pastures formed on glacial and riverine sediment above marble bedrock, and higher woodlands grown on thin glacial sediments on top of metamorphic gneissic bedrock.
Meet neighbors, new friends and learn along the way–but don’t worry, there won’t be a test at the end!
Degree of challenge: Easy to moderate
