The Dairy Annex

Home/The Dairy Annex

We are proud that the Connecticut Department of Agriculture has designated New Pond Farm as one of the state’s Dairy Farms of Distinction, recognizing our consistently high milk quality and the care we take in maintaining a beautiful, well-kept farm..

Our small dairy herd typically includes about fourteen cows, with four to five in the milking rotation at any given time. Cows are milked each morning and afternoon, producing up to 25 gallons of milk daily. The milk is refrigerated on-site, then pasteurized and bottled several times each week. We produce fresh milk, chocolate milk, and yogurt. Because our products are pasteurized but not homogenized, you may notice a rich, creamy layer on top—a hallmark of truly fresh dairy.

Fun Fact: Our hard-working farm managers processed 6,000 gallons of plain milk, 1,400 gallons of chocolate milk, and 70 gallons of yogurt this year!

Fresh eggs are collected daily and are typically available after 2:00 pm—but be sure to hurry, as they go fast. Apologies, we are unable to reserve eggs for patrons. Eggs can be found in the Annex refrigerator.

Seasonal meats—including pork, lamb, and beef—are offered on a limited basis. For current availability, please leave a message for our farmers by calling the Annex at 203-938-2635 and include your name and phone number.

Farm products are available daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. We accept cash, checks, and online credit card payments.
