Redding Road Race – A Run For the Cows

Road Race Update:

Dear Runners,

As you probably expected, and maybe dreaded, we must postpone our 2020 race until Sunday, September 20th. I was holding out hope for a miracle breakthrough, but realism has set in. Our roster includes runners from over 20 states and a few countries and their plans have to be changed/cancelled. I’ve had 4 or 5 races postponed that I personally signed up for, so I feel your pain. I got myself in the best shape of my life and am going through a bit of self-pity. BUT it’s only running and there are much more important things going on right now.

– September 20th was chosen as it’s really the only fall date until 11/15 with no local half marathons or big races. I don’t want to hurt other races by placing my half on the same day as theirs is scheduled. The Cheshire Half has not set a new date for their race and I hope they don’t choose the same date as ours?? I’m hoping 9/20 is scheduled far enough out, Boston is rescheduled to 9/14 so, fingers crossed.

– In a week or so, you’ll receive and email from me (or Runsignup) that will give you two options:
    1. Remain on the roster and run the 9/20 race
    2. Defer your registration until the 5/2/2021 race and pay nothing for the 2021 race.

Please be safe and I hope to see you in September in Redding, if not before, hopefully running somewhere else.

– John McCleary
