Syrup Shed

As you walk down our Farm Road you will pass our Syrup Shed (aka Sugar Shed) with its large columns of stacked wood.

From mid-February through mid-March you may see steam rising from its cupola as our farmers boil down the many gallons of sap they have collected from our Sugar Maple trees in their effort to make delicious maple syrup. It takes approximately 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup, which explains all of the steam! Our shed houses a large evaporator along with other equipment needed for production.

Please keep an eye out for our programs on how to make your own syrup at home.
