Bearded Dragon
One of our favorite animal residents is Callie.
These friendly lizards are native to the subtropical woodlands, scrublands, savannas, shore areas, and into the great interior deserts of Australia.
They can reach 13 to 24 inches long, including the tail, and live 7-10 years in captivity
These opportunistic omnivores eat plants, insects, spiders, and sometimes small rodents or lizards
– Here we feed crickets and wax worms
Named for their “beard,” an expandable section of skin with spiky scales
